Sjelemat i Harlem/soul food in Harlem

smakfullt, ærlig og billig mat, dette ble frokosten denne dagen med kveldsopptak og dermed utflukt (med the A-train) til 125th street på formiddagen

tasty, honest and cheap food, this is our breakfast this day, with shooting in the night and therefore a trip (by the A-train)to 125th street in the morning


for blant annet å besøke legendariske Apollo teater, alt som kan krype og gå av svarte storheter gjennom tidene har spilt her, rakk dessverre ikke noen konsert her (men fikk med oss Chuck Berry på B.B. King Bar fredag)

we visited legendary Apollo Theatre, where almost every black artist of all years has played, unfortunately we did not go to a show here (but we experienced Chuck Berry at B.B.King Bar on friday)

Frokost i New York/breakfast in New York

bortsett fra at her er klokka 0100 og frokosten er vår nattmat (egg/bacon/poteter)

except that the time is 1am and the breakfast is our midnight snack (eggs/bacon/mashed potatoes)


men her er det vanlig frokosttid hos The Sturgeon King, de røyker selv laks og stør og jeg spiste begge deler i eggerøre. Var det godt? Tja... ok

but here it is ordinary breakfast time at The Sturgeon King, they smoke salmon and sturgeon and I ate both with scrabled eggs. Was it good? Well... ok

Sånn bodde vi/we lived like this

ikke for å klage, vi gikk inn i dette med åpne øyne, valgte et veldig billig hotell (i et helt ok område nær en subwaystasjon,
W86th), men rommet var veldig lite, dusj/do på gangen, støyfull airconditioning og utenfor vinduet startet arbeidere med opppussing av fasaden klokka 6

not to complaint, we did this with open eyes, chose a very cheap hotel (in an ok area, close to a subway station, W86th), but the room was very small, we shared bathroom with the other guests, noisy airconditioning and outside the window workers started renovating the fasade 6am



vi måtte bære alt utstyret opp trange bratte trapper 4 etasjer, men se, nå bygger de heis!

we had to carry all our bags and suitcases narrow, steep stairs 4 floors, but look, they are building elevator!

jeg kom hjem i går fra jobbetur til New York en uke, mitt første besøk i byen og det ga mersmak, virkelig. Vi jobbet mye, så det ble ikke veldig mye tid til bilder (bortsett fra de bevegelige), men noen poster kommer nå etter hvert.

I returned from a week's working trip to New York yesterday, my first visit in the city, and I will definitively return. We had lots of work to do, so there was not very much time for pictures (except the moving ones), but there will be more posts in the days to come
